Janis has been a Trustee of Streetwise for over ten years and has been Chair of the Board since November 2021 – providing an exciting opportunity to be part of forward thinking and dynamic Organisation for Young People.   Janis believes in enabling Young People to reach their maximum potential and is always looking for new opportunities to promote the best interests of Young People and their Families.

Brad Montague

Lesley joined the Board in December 2018, she believes that every child and young person should be enabled to become the best version of themselves, reach their potential and achieve their dreams. Having recently retired from enjoying 35 years in education, 13 years as a Head teacher and 6 years as CEO of a multi academy trust in Sheffield. Lesley has always been impressed by the contribution of charities such as Streetwise when it comes to provide vital support services for children and young people in need. Lesley offers her expertise and experience on both a strategic and practical level.

Nelson Mandala

Tally has recently been elected on to the Board of Trustees as Treasurer (February 2024). Tally graduated from Northumbria University with a Degree in Business Studies over 10 years ago and is now a Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACCA).  Tally has significant finance experience gained across various NHS and Public Sector Organisations – NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA), North East Ambulance Service; NHS Foundation Trust and Newcastle City Council holding diverse Accounting and Finance Business Partner roles. Tally is keen to bring financial expertise, inclusivity, objectivity and an ability to build strong connections.

Christian D. Larson

James has recently been elected on to the Board of Trustees as Treasurer (February 2024). James has a background in Accountancy having worked as an External Auditor for over 20 years in both the Not-for-Profit and Corporate Sectors.  James has helped raise significant funds for Streetwise which included trekking up Mount Kilimanjaro. James is passionate about ensuring the next generation of  Young People receive the necessary support they need to help them prosper and become the best they can be.

The Thirteenth Doctor

Simon joined the Board in November 2020 and has a background in supporting young adults to make the most of their potential through education, training and routes to employment. Simon is passionate about maximizing the life chances of young people and keeping them safe, well and motivated within their educational settings.

Liz joined the Board in July 2020. Liz has a background in business, buying and merchandising for a retail group, and NIKE. More recently Liz has worked with young people, teaching English as a Foreign Language and a school librarian. Liz has an eye for detail and editing and is passionate about levelling the playing field for all young people through education and equal opportunity.

Alasdair joined the Board in July 2020. He has a background in the tech industry and in business, currently CTO of a national Telecoms and IT service provider. Completed numerous challenges as fundraisers for different charities and is passionate about empowering and educating young people from all backgrounds.

Amanda recently re-joined the Board of Trustees in April 2023, having previously given several years of outstanding support to the organization. Amanda has an extensive background including working with a number of charities and brings considerable experience of fundraising among other expertise.

Ed joined the Board in May 2019. Ed is a Director/Designer at Roots & Wings, and enjoys using his skills as an artist, designer and musician. Ed has worked with various groups, mainly young people’s groups, reviewing services or investigating issues through creative practices and service design approaches. Ed has previously supported Streetwise as part of the Expanding Minds and Improving Lives Research and is keen to enable young people to have a voice & support staff to work creatively with them to affect positive change in society.
