Youth & Community Worker
Developing Accessible Services for Young People Streetwise offers free and confidential Advice, Counselling, Sexual Health & Support Services for Young People aged 11 – 25 years. We are a busy Young People’s Service based in the City Centre of Newcastle upon Tyne.
Due to additional funding secured we are looking to recruit a
Qualified and Experienced Youth Worker
BA (Hons) Degree Youth & Community Work, Social Work, B.Ed., PGCE, NVQ Level 6.
37 hours per week (permanent)
30 days Annual Leave plus Bank Holidays, plus Annual Birthday.
Salary: (£27,044 – £30,756 per annum)
Staff Benefits including, an Employee Assistance Program, Dental and Eye Test Appointments, Chiropody and other Therapy Interventions, 24-hour advice and information line and much more (upon completed probation). We also have in place an Annual Travel Pass Assistance Scheme.
We are looking for a confident and experienced individual who can demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for working with young people. This person must be able to deliver sexual health services and employability support. They will be required to provide individual support, group work activities and outreach work with young people, ensuring confidentiality and maintaining a supportive environment.
An understanding of Safeguarding, GDPR and the ability to assess Young People’s needs is essential.
Holding a Full driving licence is desirable for this post.
In order to maximise our delivery time with Young People, this role will include evening work (flexibility is an essential requirement for this post).
