Streetwise is a young people's charity, we work with young people aged 13-25 years old from all over the north-east. We are based in Newcastle upon Tyne. You can talk to us about anything, whether you need someone to listen, or would like some information or advice. If we don’t have the answer we should know someone who will! All our services at Streetwise for young people are FREE and CONFIDENTIAL

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is a big word that can make people feel very confused! It's important that you understand what it means so you know your rights and can make good choices when it comes to staying healthy.

Whatever you tell a Streetwise worker will remain confidential (private) unless we think you or someone else is in danger. This means normally no-one will find out you have been in to see us unless you tell them. If we do have to pass on information you have told us (e.g. if you are in danger), we will always tell you we are going to do this and we will support you. Remember: your confidentiality is important to us too. We have a responsibility to keep you safe and will only break confidentiality if we're seriously worried about your health and safety.
