Streetwise offers a range of Youth Work Provision and Outreach Opportunities for Young People across the City.
Streetwise provides a free, open access Drop-in Service every Monday afternoon from 1- 3pm, where Young People can access 121 Information, Advice, Signposting and Support. The Drop-in Service is supported by qualified, trained and skilled Youth Workers, who are passionate about helping Young People. During the Drop-ins Young People are seen on a ‘first come first served’ basis. The Drop-in service provides a safe and confidential space where Young People can request information, support and/or discuss any issues that are concerning them, no matter how big or small without being judged.Â
Streetwise are also currently offering complimentary snacks and refreshments during all of our City Centre Drop-ins!
Streetwise is now working in several different secondary education schools and academies across the City.
We work closely with pupils and school staff to offer the right services that best meet the needs of children and young people. In two of these schools, Jesmond Park Academy and North Gosforth Academy, we offer Early Help Youth Hubs. Within these hubs, young people can access free information, advice, counselling, emotional and mental health support, social and community activities and relationship support. Come rain or shine our dedicated outreach youth workers are out and about on the streets of Newcastle. The Outreach Team are part of the Newcastle Youth Fund offer, watch out for events and activities organised throughout the year.
The Outreach Youth Workers take Streetwise services into the neighbourhoods where our Newcastle Youth Fund Youthwork Hubs are i.e. Byker and West Denton, to where our young people live, on their streets and into local parks.  Look out for them in the East End around Byker on Monday early evenings and West Denton on Thursday early evenings.Â
The Outreach Team aim to reach out to young people on the street to help connect, understand and engage young people in community activities, events and so much more. Worker are here to listen, signpost and support young people to feel a part of their community and realise their potential.Â
Streetwise provides free, friendly and confidential services to young people aged 11 -25, we will be planning Summer 2025 Activities soon, so watch this space.
