Streetwise is now working in eight different Secondary Education Schools and Academies.
We work closely with Pupils and School Staff to offer the right Services that best meet the needs of our Children and Young People.
In two of the Schools, Jesmond Park Academy and North Gosforth Academy, we offer Early Help Youth Hubs. Within the Hubs, Young People can access free Information, Advice, Careers, Counselling, Emotional and Mental Health Support, Social and Community Activities and Sexual Health Services. Young people tell us that the Early help Hubs feel like safe and comfortable spaces in which they feel listened to respected and supported. Young People can drop-in during the School day and talk with Streetwise workers.
In all of our Schools, Streetwise offers a varying range of support from informal groups to targeted one-to-one support. We think this helps Young People to use the Services in a variety of ways depending upon their own needs and wishes.
