City Centre Drop-ins
Streetwise provides a free, open access Drop-in Sessions several times per week, where Young People can access a range of Information, Advice, Support and other Specialist Services. The Drop-ins are supported by qualified, trained and skilled Youth Workers, who are passionate about helping Young People. During the Drop-ins Young People are seen on a ‘first come first served’ basis. The Drop-in service provides a safe and confidential space where Young People can request information, support and/or discuss any issues that are concerning them, no matter how big or small without being judged.
Streetwise are also currently offering complimentary snacks and refreshments during all of our City Centre Drop-ins!
School Hubs
Streetwise is now working in eight different secondary education schools and academies.
We work closely with pupils and school staff to offer the right services that best meet the needs of children and young people. In two of the schools, Jesmond Park Academy and North Gosforth Academy, we offer Early Help Youth Hubs. Within these hubs, young people can access free information, advice, counselling, emotional and mental health support, social and community activities and sexual health services. Community Hubs
Come rain or shine our dedicated outreach youth workers are out and about on the streets of Newcastle. The Outreach Team are part of the Newcastle Youth Fund offer, watch out for events and activities organised throughout the year.
The Outreach Youth Workers take Streetwise services into the neighbourhoods where young people live, on their streets and parks. Look out for them in the East End (Walker, Daisy Hill, Wakergate, Byker, Ouseburn), and Outer West (Lemington, West Denton, Newbiggin Hall, Throckley, Newburn) of Newcastle.
The Outreach Team also use the Streetwise Youth Van to deliver youth work sessions to young people in the streets and parks acting, as a mini Streetwise support hub, to take resources to young people where they live.
